Voyage Description Step aboard the Santa Maria Manuela in Barcelona for a five-night Mediterranean voyage bound for the Balearic Islands. Arrive early to explore the Gothic Quarter, discover Gaudí’s architecture, or enjoy the city’s vibrant culinary scene before boarding.

Leaving Barcelona behind, we set course for Menorca, with plenty of time to settle into the rhythm of life at sea. Help the crew handle the sails, take the helm for a spell, or find a comfortable spot on deck to enjoy the journey. No prior sailing experience is necessary, and participation is entirely optional.

The entry into Mahón is a highlight in itself, as we glide into its long natural harbor lined with waterfront buildings and historic fortifications along the shore. Our port call offers the opportunity to stroll through the town streets, pause at a local cafe, and take in the harbor views.

Back on board, we continue toward Mallorca, sharing meals and stories as the journey unfolds. Our voyage ends in Palma, where staying a little longer gives you time to explore the seafront cathedral, shaded courtyards, and winding streets of the old town.

Weather Early April typically brings mild spring days, with daytime temperatures ranging between 16°C and 20°C, cooler nights, and a mix of sunshine and occasional showers. Winds can be strong, especially around Menorca, so be sure to pack warm clothing and a windproof, waterproof jacket for when you are on deck.

Vessel

Santa María Manuela

The Santa Maria Manuela was launched on 10 May 1937 in Lisbon. It is a 67-metre sailing ship. The ship was named after the owner’s wife, Maria Manuela, mother of 16 children. The main function of the Santa Maria Manuela was cod fishing. The Santa Maria Manuela underwent a number of structural changes over the years, from the removal of the masts to the installation of a navigation bridge. In 1993 the ship was considered obsolete, was dismantled and only the steel hull remained. The following year the Santa María Manuela Foundation was created, a project that united 17 institutions under the same purpose: to recover the ship. The SMM now has unique conditions for sea voyages, events, parties and training at sea. Predominant colour WHITE.
