VOYAGE DESCRIPTION
Set sail from Gran Canaria for an adventure across three of the Canary Islands, where volcanic landscapes, the open sea, and traditional seamanship come together.
Aboard the historic Santa Maria Manuela, become part of life at sea: help hoist the sails, take the helm, learn maneuvers alongside the crew, or simply enjoy the rhythm of the ship as we sail between the islands.
Our voyage takes us to La Palma, one of the wildest and most beautiful islands in the Canaries, before continuing across the Atlantic toward Tenerife. Along the way, enjoy dramatic volcanic coastlines, star-filled night skies, and the fascinating experience of approaching these extraordinary islands from the sea.
More than just a passage between islands, this is an opportunity to experience the Canaries as sailors have done for centuries: under sail and surrounded by the vast Atlantic.
WEATHER
In mid-December, the Canary Islands maintain ideal spring-like sailing conditions, with daytime temperatures between 19°C and 22°C and cool nights between 15°C and 17°C. Clear days with cloudy intervals and moderate trade winds will predominate, offering optimal open-ocean conditions for inter-island sailing. A windproof jacket and light warm clothing are recommended for protection against the wind during night watches and time on deck.

Santa MarÃa Manuela
The Santa Maria Manuela was launched on 10 May 1937 in Lisbon. It is a 67-metre sailing ship. The ship was named after the owner’s wife, Maria Manuela, mother of 16 children. The main function of the Santa Maria Manuela was cod fishing. The Santa Maria Manuela underwent a number of structural changes over the years, from the removal of the masts to the installation of a navigation bridge. In 1993 the ship was considered obsolete, was dismantled and only the steel hull remained. The following year the Santa MarÃa Manuela Foundation was created, a project that united 17 institutions under the same purpose: to recover the ship. The SMM now has unique conditions for sea voyages, events, parties and training at sea. Predominant colour WHITE.
