Houfleur – Ostende

Ship the Galleon and live the experience of sailing in a replica of almost 50 metres in length. A real merchant ship of the period in which the spaces are larger and more comfortable. On this voyage you will be part of the crew, using the same sailing techniques, with training on navigation, charts, use of sails, knots, and navigational watches, etc.

Departing from the port of Houfleur and arriving at the port of Ostend, this crossing lasts 1 day, corresponding to 175 nautical miles (281 km). It will allow you to make an unforgettable voyage through the English Channel until you reach Ostend, a city located in Belgium. You will be able to visit its beautiful cathedral dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul in the historical center as well as the port of Ostend which is considered the second most important in Belgium. In addition, the port of Ostend is located right in front of the city center, close to the most touristic area. Many more sights that will surprise you in this charming city. Sailing on the sailing boats of the Nao Victoria Foundation is a magnificent human, technical and natural experience. You will take part in the sailing watches and experience the camaraderie of people of different ages, cultures and backgrounds, all as fond of the sea and boats as you are. You will learn navigation techniques, manoeuvring, knots and rigging, as well as getting to recognise the main stars and constellations. And all this in a natural environment as different, indomitable and incredibly beautiful as the sea.

A mini adventure full of humanity. My dream since I was a child, to see the sails swell in the wind, with the bow cutting waves up and down. Swallowing the sky, swallowing the sea. I am one of those who never stop, I do not miss even the smallest detail and Nao Victoria and you have filled me. All my nights different, always ecstatic. Captain, crew a 10, volunteers, I have no scale to name your dedication, your courtesy, your bizarreness. Historically well prepared, I now admire even more those heroes who preceded us.
