Embark on a 7-day round-trip sailing adventure from Tenerife to Funchal and back aboard the Santa Maria Manuela. This voyage combines the excitement of an upwind sail to Madeira with the rewarding downwind run back to the Canary Islands, offering fantastic sailing opportunities.

Departing from Tenerife, we head north toward Funchal, where the prevailing winds may make for a more challenging, yet rewarding, upwind journey. This is a great opportunity to hone your sailing skills, participate in deck activities, and embrace the true spirit of ocean sailing.

Reaching Madeira, we’ll enter Funchal’s beautiful harbor under the December sun. Here, you can explore the historic city, stroll through the colorful Mercado dos Lavradores, or taste the island’s famous wines.

The return to Tenerife promises great downwind sailing, with the wind at our backs and the Santa Maria Manuela gliding effortlessly over the Atlantic swells. Hoist the sails, enjoy time on deck, watch for dolphins, and witness stunning sunsets over the open ocean.

Weather:

Expect mild temperatures between 17–22°C during the day and 14–18°C at night. The northeast trade winds provide steady sailing conditions, with moderate seas. While mostly dry weather is anticipated, occasional showers may occur near Madeira.

When preparing for your voyage please bear in mind:

• Your passport must have at least 6 months validity at the time of travel
• The SMM is granted no flexibility for the embarkation and disembarkation times from the customs authorities

All guests must be between the ages of 14 and 80 years old at the time of travel
