Upon arrival in Tarifa, we recommend staying a few days to explore this fascinating port city. Here are some suggestions:Castle of Guzmán el Bueno. This 10th century castle is one of Tarifa’s most historic attractions. It offers breathtaking views of the Strait of Gibraltar and Morocco on clear days. In addition, its history related to Guzmán el Bueno is fascinating.
Ruins of Baelo Claudia. About 20 minutes drive from Tarifa, these Roman ruins are a trip back in time. They are very well preserved and include a theatre, temples and salting factories. The proximity to Bolonia beach makes it an ideal place to combine history and relaxation.

Nao Victoria

The Nao Victoria is the replica of the first ship that sailed around the world with Magellan and Elcano, achieving the greatest naval feat of all time. It was built in 1991 and in 2004 it sailed around the world again to commemorate that trip. It has 3 masts and bowsprit, 6 sails with 290m2 of sail area. With capacity for 22 people, it usually has 12 people on board with bunk beds. Wooden boat more familiar and spartan, with the smallest spaces, with incredible stories and adventures.

Sailing on the sailing boats of the Nao Victoria Foundation is a magnificent human, technical and natural experience. You will take part in the sailing watches and experience the camaraderie of people of different ages, cultures and backgrounds, all as fond of the sea and boats as you are. You will learn navigation techniques, manoeuvring, knots and rigging, as well as getting to recognise the main stars and constellations. And all this in a natural environment as different, indomitable and incredibly beautiful as the sea.

I am one of those who never stop, I do not miss even the smallest detail and Nao Victoria and you have filled me. All my nights different, always ecstatic. Captain, crew a 10, volunteers, I have no scale to name your dedication, your courtesy, your bizarreness. Historically well prepared, I now admire even more those heroes who preceded us.
